In the midst of a centuries-old olive grove overlooking the tranquil Orcia Valley and close to the famous wine town of Montalcino, lies Le Casacce - a group of carefully restored stone buildings based around an old farm and working olive press. Bordered by the lush vineyards of Montalcino, the area is a paradise of natural beauty, affording a wealth of walks and excursions in the valleys and low mountains of Tuscany.

The site comprises the sprawling 15th century farmhouse which is now home to the reception area, restaurant, bed and breakfast rooms as well as four self contained apartments. Surrounding the main house are three of the original farm buildings which have each been sympathetically renovated and now offer superb apartments each with their own individual style and layout, and a new building overlooking the pool. The apartments of Le Casacce vary in size, accommodating from 2 to 6 persons. All are simply yet elegantly furnished in the Tuscan country style, and are comfortably equipped, including dishwasher and television. Facilities at the property include a huge panoramic swimming pool, gardens, a gastronomic restaurant, laundry and even mountain bike hire.

Central to the property is a gastronomic restaurant, run by the renowned chef Enrico Casini and his wife, serving a varied selection of the best local dishes and specialities, accompanied by fine local wines. An on-site shop sells the locally made meats, breads, cheeses, wines and other delicacies - together of course, with the wonderful top quality olive oil pressed at the property.

LE CASACCE MAIN HOUSE

One of the first views for visitors to LE CASACCE will be the main house which is the Tuscan farmhouse of most people's imaginations. Built in traditional stone and adorned with vibrant red and pink geraniums, the house offers four self contained apartments on the upper floor, each with superb views over the countryside and the grounds. On the ground floor are seven bed and breakfast bedrooms on the ground floor, some of which interconnect so could be opened up into suites. There are two beautiful terraces at the back overlooking the grounds and rolling hills beyond, and a smaller terrace at the front for guests staying in this part of the house. All the bedrooms can be arranged either as a double bedroom or as a twin according to the needs of your party and are equally suited to out of season visits. The apartments all offer televisions and fireplace features.

GUARDIANO

As you arrive at Le Casacce and drive down the little road lined with Cypress trees, GUARDIANO is the first building you reach. Comprising just four apartments (two on the ground floor and two on the upper floor, this building offers exceptionally larger terraces and good sized balconies with spacious rooms. The shower rooms are all newly fitted and the apartments offer modern kitchens including full oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and cafetiere. All the bedrooms can be arranged either as a double bedroom or as a twin according to the needs of your party, and all have a television and fireplace feature making them equally suited to out of season visits.

PASTORE

Almost opposite Epic in a slight elevated position, PASTORE is a most intriguing building comprising just three apartments, each very different from the others. and the apartments offer well equipped kitchens with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge with ice box and cafetiere. All the bedrooms can be arranged either as a double bedroom or as a twin according to the needs of your party, and all have a television and fireplace feature making them equally suited to out of season visits. There are two apartments on the ground floor, and one on the first floor reach by an attractive stone portico.

CACCIATORE

Tucked away behind Pastore, CACCIATORE is another pretty stone building overlooking a garden area, and with a little path leading down the pool area. Comprising just four apartments (three on the ground floor and one on the upper floor, this building offers perhaps the most romantic apartments. The shower rooms are all newly fitted and the apartments offer simple Tuscan style kitchen with hob, dishwasher, fridge with ice box and cafetiere. All the bedrooms can be arranged either as a double bedroom or as a twin according to the needs of your party, and all have a television and fireplace feature making them equally suited to out of season visits.

SCUDERIE

Set in the grounds of the main house overlooking the pool, SCUDERIE comprises just two single-storey apartments, making it ideal for larger family groups who may wish to holiday together whilst retaining a degree of privacy, or maybe two young families together. Unlike the other buildings, Scuderie has been rendered, but inside the apartments are slightly larger and still just as full of character and charm. The shower rooms are all newly fitted and the apartments offer simple Tuscan style kitchen with hob, dishwasher, fridge with ice box and cafetiere. All the bedrooms can be arranged either as a double bedroom or as a twin according to the needs of your party, and all have a television and fireplace feature making them equally suited to out of season visits.
