Superbly situated below the mediaeval village of Radicondoli, Villa Virgilius
is the Tuscan villa of most peoples imaginations! Surrounded by olive trees and fruit groves, the villa enjoys
exceptional views over the Chianti hills, the famous towers of San Gimignano, and stretching as far as the Apennines.
The ground floor comprises a spacious living/dining room with fire place
making the house equally suited to summer or spring/autumn lets with romantic evenings in front of the fire, an
open plan kitchen equipped with a hob and full oven and well as a pizza oven, and a door giving access to the terrace.
There are three bedrooms in all. The main bedroom has a double bed and offers many features typical of the area
such as exposed brick detail and built in cupboards, Bedroom two also has a double bed and beamed ceilings. The
spacious third bedroom offers two twin beds and has been decorated in light mediterranean tones. Two shower rooms
each with toilet make the house equally suited to families or two couples, and there is a laundry room with further
shower (external access).
Villa Virgilius has a warm friendly feel which seems to effortlessly
combine traditional character with modern conveniences. The first floor is occasionally used by the owners who
live nearby, for the necessary maintenance both of the garden and the pool.
Outside, is the garden where there is plenty of room for children to
run and play, or where adults can find a quiet spot to relax and unwind after a day sightseeing. The jewel in the
crown is the beautiful 11x5m private pool with panoramic terrace and stunning views over the surrounding countryside.
The medieval village of Radicondoli is only 400m away and is easily reachable
on foot. Here you will find a good range of services such as food shops, bank, tennis courts and of course restaurants
if you want to try some of the excellent Chianti with dinner. The area is the ideal spot from which to explore
this exciting of Tuscany. The larger town of Colle Val d'Elsa is approx. 27 km whilst the unmissable sights of
San Gimignano (35km), Siena (40 km), Florence (75km), Pisa (95km) are all within reach. The beaches of the Tuscan
coast are less than an hour's car journey away.
